On the morning of February 27, the Center for Research and Production of Vaccines and Biologicals (POLYVAC) organized a ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025) and the Grassroots-level Conference on Outstanding Examples.
Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27) is an important anniversary to appreciate doctors, pharmacists, and health workers. This day was established in 1955 when President Ho Chi Minh wrote a letter to the health sector, emphasizing its vital role in caring for the people's health and reminding those in medicine to be "Physicians like kind mothers" - meaning doctors must be like gentle mothers.
Speaking at the Celebration Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Hien, Director of POLYVAC, stated that this is also an occasion to look back at the achievements and challenges of the health sector, thereby continuing to improve the quality of healthcare for the people.
Recognizing the contributions and positive spirit of the staff and workers at POLYVAC, the Board of Directors emphasized maintaining responsibility and seriousness in vaccine production of the frontline force, contributing to disease prevention, control, and elimination.
In the coming time, Vietnam's health sector aims to enhance domestic vaccine production capacity, ensuring autonomy in essential vaccines while working towards exporting vaccines that meet international standards. This orientation requires POLYVAC staff and workers to constantly improve processes, enhance product quality, and strictly comply with production and testing standards. The Center also needs to proactively cooperate with domestic and international scientific organizations to access modern technology, accelerate research progress, and create high-quality products.
On the occasion of February 27, the leadership represented the Center to visit and wish health to Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Van Man, former Director of POLYVAC.
At the Grassroots Advanced Model Conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Hien, on behalf of the Ministry of Health leadership, presented certificates of merit and commended individuals with outstanding achievements contributing to the health sector's development in 2024.
