Semi-finished Vaccine Production Department 1
General Introduction
Formerly the Cell Culture and Crude Vaccine Production Dept, with simple manual scales and low yield. Initially, it mainly performed cell culture for crude vaccine materials.
Through years of R&D, the department has gradually adopted modern vaccine technologies, such as:
- Infusion method in monkey kidney cell trypsinization
- Monkey kidney cell subculture method
- Multi-layer bottle cell culture to increase density and yield
Currently, Dept 1 has fully mastered production, yielding high-volume, stable semi-finished vaccine batches for domestic and potential export needs.
Functions and Tasks
Dept 1's main task is producing semi-finished vaccines, especially Polio and Rota, for the EPI, while aiming for export-standard supplies in the future.
Beyond production, the department actively joins scientific research for vaccine and biologicals innovation, optimization, and quality control.
