General Introduction
Phase 2007–2012:
- From June 2007, Ms. Nguyen Nu Anh Thu was transferred from the 135 Lo Duc QC unit to lead the Measles vaccine QC unit, which later became QC Dept 2.
- The unit then comprised biological testing, chemical testing, and laboratory animal breeding.
- Under the "Strengthening Measles Vaccine Production Capacity" project, the unit established bio-chemical labs and animal models with Japanese expert guidance.
- From July 1, 2010, Comrade Nguyễn Nữ Anh Thư was appointed as Head of QC2 Department until April 2012.
Phase 2012–2020:
- In April 2012, comrade Ngô Thu Hường was appointed as Head of QC2 Department, and comrade Phạm Anh Thư as Deputy Head of the Department.
- During this period, the unit expanded under the "Strengthening Measles-Rubella Combined Vaccine Production Capacity" project.
- The unit established a pathology group and launched the SPF rabbit facility (2017) and a new laboratory animal house (2018).
Phase 2020 – Present:
- In August 2020, comrade Ngô Thu Hường was appointed as Deputy Director of the Center, while also assigning the task of managing the QC2 department to comrade Phạm Anh Thư (who was then Deputy Head of the Department).
- The department continues stable operations, testing Measles and Rubella vaccines, water for injection, semi-finished products, environments, and raw materials.
- QC2 includes SPF rabbit breeding, lab animals, and pathology, ensuring a closed-loop testing chain.
Functions and Tasks
Establish and manage professional documentation:
- Draft, periodically review, and update testing protocols, technical standards, and documents for pathology, SPF rabbit, and lab animal testing.
- Manage chemicals, consumables, and documentation according to GMP standards.
Equipment management:
- Plan and execute calibration, validation, maintenance, and repair for departmental equipment.
- Coordinate with the Technical Department for troubleshooting.
Human resource training and development:
- Organize new staff training and enhance professional knowledge and practical skills.
- Actively participate in internal and external GMP training courses.
Scientific research:
- Execute scientific research projects assigned by the Board of Directors.
- Propose initiatives and develop grassroots-level projects.
Other tasks:
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Center Director.
